Apple has announced it will reveal its new in-car iPhone system at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show this week. CarPlay is integrated into the car’s infotainment system and uses Siri to receive voice commands from the driver – such as playing music, dictating text messages or making phone calls. Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show
Regardless of whether you think the electric car is potentially a planet saviour or not, the idea of powering cars with hydrogen is a powerful one; the holy grail of automotive powertrains. Technically, ICE cars can be built to run using hydrogen (and a retro-fit allowing that to be achieved economically would be a huge breakthrough) but car makers are heading down the road of electric cars being powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the moment. In Toyota’s case, that means a setup similar to their hybrid cars, with a hydrogen fuel cell replacing the petrol engine.
Jack Roush and Carroll Shelby are two men who have been linked with the Ford Mustang for decades. Amazingly, they have never worked together on one--until now. Roush and Shelby teamed up to create a unique 2011 Ford Mustang, named the SR-71, which will be auctioned to raise funds for charity.
